Before seeing this movie… I had mixed feelings whether Disney can come up with a new awesome story after they ended Monsters Inc. in a 'happily ever after '(Even though in sad tone) way…… But after seeing the movie i got stunned….. Disney has made a pretty good job both with the story and screenplay and all that…. They got everything in place as it used to be in Monsters Inc. and the best part about the film is how friendship develops between mike and sully…. and how the rivalry between the duo and randy sparks up…. The way they show the University is quite fascinating…. Disney got it all figured out including which degree one opts to…. and the scary sports they play there,the different clubs in the university and all that…..Surprisingly the movie ends with a happy tone…. So you can come out of the screens with a happy mood…. 🙂

And the scary things. And meeting friends and leaving your hometown. That provides the heart of the movie,' says Baird. Setting the story in a prequel universe brought the opportunity to add a whole slate of quirky monsters and personalities for audiences to fall for. Co-writer Daniel Gerson is most excited for audience to meet Art, voiced by Charlie Day. 'He became a character who we realized we could give any line to. The more extreme the non-sequitur, the better,' Gerson says. 'You're just waiting for the next weird thing he's going to say.'
Watch Monsters University online, free Streaming Baird adds that 'Dean Hardscrabble (Helen Mirren) is awesome for a whole host of reasons. She's just so intimidating and hopefully plugs into that one college professor that you had who just scares the heck out of you.' Interestingly, Gerson says that the part of Hardscrabble was originally written for a man, but that they changed it when they realized that the film was going to be very male-centric due to the fraternity setting. 'We realized we wanted to get at least one significant female voice, so we made that gender switch and it just worked beautifully,' says Gerson.
Smash and Will & Grace alum Sean Hayes brought his voice talents to another new character named Terri, one half of a two-headed monster. Dave Foley voices the other head. 'We're part of the group that comes together to help Mike fulfill his dream of being the best scarer on campus,' says Hayes. Unlike many actors who voice characters in animated films, because of the unique circumstance of having a two-headed monster, Hayes worked alongside Foley in the recording studio. 'It was the funniest time I've ever had in my life. We share a similar sense of comedy. He was just a genius and a dream to improvise with. We ended up using some of our improvisation in the movie.'Hayes might not be new to animated films, but this was his first Pixar experience. And he doesn't hesitate to gush about Monsters University, or his delightful experience on the film. 'This, I believe, is the best Pixar film ever. They say Disneyland is the greatest place on earth and I say Pixar is the greatest place to work on earth,' says Hayes. John Ratzenberger, who not only voices Yeti in Monsters University, but has voiced a character in every Pixar feature so far, agrees. 'It's kind of like working with da Vinci. They create art that people will live on forever.'LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) – It has been over a decade since 'Monsters, Inc.' and its two top scarers Mike and Sulley first proved that things that go bump in the night can be cuddly and adorable too. Now, Pixar is returning once more to the fright factory with 'Monster's University.' The prequel follows the creatures from the first film during their formative years in college where they brush up on the best ways to frighten children. Billy Crystal and John Goodman return to voice Mike and Sulley, along with vocal work from the likes of Helen Mirren, Sean Hayes and Steve Buscemi.
The film opens on Friday and early reviews are positive with caveats. Critics acknowledged that the picture doesn't rank alongside the greatest works in the animation studio's canon like 'Up' and 'Wall-E,' Watch Monsters University online, full movie but said it was a charming piece of family entertainment that falls short of earlier, more innovative offerings. Many reviewers have yet to weigh in, but the picture currently holds a strong 74 percent rating on the critics aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. In TheWrap, Alonso Duralde said the film did have a few narrative surprises up its sleeve even as it borrowed liberally from countless other campus comedies like 'Revenge of the Nerds.' 'Falling as it does squarely between the studio's classics and its decidedly lesser work, ‘Monsters University' is a solidly average Pixar effort, one that brings some laughs to the kegger, but you'll be hard-pressed to remember it at the reunion in 10 years,' Duralde wrote. Like Duralde, the Associated Press' Jake Coyle griped that 'Monsters University' does not clear the high-bar raised by past Pixar classics. Yet he acknowledged that measuring Pixar against its genre-defining greatest works might be an unfair form of comparison, and seemed to feel it was better than recent, critically derided efforts like 'Cars 2.'
'‘Monsters University' is neither a bold return to form nor another misfire, but a charming, colorful coming-of-age tale that would be a less qualified success for all but Pixar,' Coyle wrote. 'The profusion of sequels is indeed dismaying for a studio that so frequently has prized originality. But ‘Monsters University' is nevertheless pleasant, amiably animated family entertainment.' Yes Pixar is a business, Time Magazine's Richard Corliss noted, but at least it goes about the work of 'brand extension' with more grace than other Hollywood players. 'That team now seems to be in its Post-Masterpiece Era; it's been a long while since the astonishing one-two-three punch of ‘WALL·E,' ‘Up' and ‘Toy Story 3,'' Corliss wrote. 'But this minor film with major charms still deserves to have kids dragging their parents to the multiplex for one more peek at the monsters in the closet. With Pixar, familiarity breeds content.' Justin Chang of Variety predicted that the film would be a hit with audiences and praised the film's visual style. In fact, he liked it better than 'Monsters Inc.' A strong script helped the film improve on its predecessor, he argued.
Monsters University is a rare cinematic creature: a prequel nobody asked for that turns out to be a summer godsend. Somebody at Disney or Pixar thought it would be a good idea to make an origin story for the characters from 2001′s quirky Monsters, Inc., following the hardworking bogeymen during their college years. Pixar, an animation studio that rarely dives into projects half-assed (no, I'm not forgetting the Cars movies – I said rarely!), turns the idea into an irresistible romp.
Here, that little one-eyed ball of greenness Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal, forever hammy) is a freshman who refuses to let his lack of fearsomeness prevent his becoming what he has always wanted to be: a professional scarer at Monsters, Inc. For that to happen, he has to pass the school's elite Scare Program. Unfortunately, he butts heads with his future best friend, James 'Sully' Sullivan (John Goodman), now a BMOC coasting on his beastly ways and revered surname.
Their heated rivalry gets them kicked out of the program, Watch Monsters University Online Putlocker forcing them to compete in the university's 'Scare Games' in an attempt to get back in. To do so, they have to join a fraternity of freaks and geeks who are also lacking in the scary department. So, to answer your question, yes – Monsters University is basically Disney/Pixar's Revenge of the Nerds.
But the filmmakers (including co-writer and director Dan Scanlon and returning Monsters, Inc. scripter Daniel Gerson) spin comic gold out of this familiar premise. Like the first Monsters movie, Monsters University is a colorful, whirring marvel of a joke machine, serving up amusingly executed moments in its narrative as well as quick, throwaway visual gags.
Watch Monsters University Online Without a runaway kid in the mix to keep everything consistently adorable, this Monsters doesn't get as sticky-sweet as its predecessor. It does, however, give audiences a rousing underdog story for all the outcast kids (and, hell, even outcast adults) out there in serious need of some uplift. Nobody may have asked for Monsters University, but I sure am glad it's around.
